Agua Fria Street has its own nifty story, rich with history and dating back to the 1600s. A road like this speaks volumes to the Spanish and their lives in Santa Fe. Dos Casitas was built years ago as a humble home on an old country road. It has been renovated without pretension, but to be loft-like with high efficiency of a kitchen décor and accent décor that was designed for when performance matters. The motto is “keep it simple,” and it is complete with all the simple pleasures and comforts of home.
DOS CASITAS is two houses for the price of one. The main house has a great kitchen decor with a convection microwave, a drawer refrigerator, a drawer freezer, and ceramic countertops. There are dinnerware sets, glassware, placemats, and cloth napkins to set the dining table. The living room enjoys a modern home interior design built for comfort with a wood-burning fireplace. Around the corner is the king bedroom set, prepared with designer luxury linens of Egyptian cotton and the best pillows. There is an antique amoire that hides a TV when not in use, and the bedroom has blackout shades. Around the corner again is the bathroom shower with amenities and FRETTE bath décor. It provides for a sun-drenched afternoon with the perfume scents of beautiful flowers. The casita is everybody’s secret hideaway! It is a place to be quiet, read a classic novel and be seclusive. Enjoy some relaxing music for sleep and wake to a good morning coffee and the spirit of a new day. You have just slept on a California king bed that was just right, and it will wait for your return. It is the same luxury bath, with the same bath accessories as in the main house. There is a nice extra, however, when we work remotely, we need that computer desk that makes for a home office setup with wifi and Internet. Join your Zoom meeting and be comfortable. Just don’t spend too much time at the desk because your Santa Fe adventure awaits!

The Second Street Brewery in the Railyard Arts District has the best fish and chips recipe, Tomasita’s Restaurant is a tradition for local flavor, and they are the first to donate food to the food bank during perilous times. Lewellan Contemporary has an outstanding collection covering all art mediums, including art glass by accomplished artists such as Lucy Lyon, an all-time favorite, Native American canvases by famous artist Fritz Scholder, Estate collections, and so much more. Blue Rain Gallery specializes in Native American Art. One step in the door and you’re mesmerized by the paint palette, art in motion, and sculpted texture of art glass. Look for the exquisite work of Preston Singletery, who incorporates Tlingit designs and stories into his work. EVOKE Contemporary uses the art of storytelling to explain each artist. You will come to know their work in a more intimate way. They have always carried the work of New Mexico artist Louisa McElwain. She used a palette knife on the end of a broomstick to paint, like no other, the azure sky of Abiquiu and Pedernal Mountain. Her art was everybody’s idea of the ultimate creative memory of New Mexico.
