Our Santa Fe luxury vacation homes are made for those who love to explore on foot. Most of th Aqui Santa Fe vacation homes are within walking distance of the Downtown Historic Plaza and Canyon Road. Some are just two blocks from the Plaza; others may be a bit further, nevertheless, you can enjoy a leisurely walk through the heart of the city on paths of history for an insider’s view of the architecture and charm of Santa Fe. If you prefer a ride home, call UBER or leave one car in the downtown parking lot.
ZAPOTAS! For shoes. Anything comfortable works best but we do have narrow and uneven brick sidewalks and age-old pathways, and sometimes you are forging a path on your own. ROTHY’S shoes are such a great trick for Santa Fe because they walk all day and take you to the opera at night.
There are many sights worthy of your explorations but there are a few that stand out.
- Downtown Historic Plaza. The architectural detail of many of the buildings, including the Lensic Performing Arts Center is fascinating because of the Moorish and southwestern influences. The New Mexico History Museum offers a historical perspective that can lay the groundwork for your understanding of our City Different and the Native American Artisans Portal Program
- Canyon Road. For many years this was the main road into town from Glorieta Pass. Then it became home to many locals in the 1950s and later, became gallery row for every kind of art imaginable.
- The Railyard Arts District. Tour the critical mass of Santa Fe’s contemporary art galleries, friendly casual restaurants, Violet Crown Cinema, REI for a last-minute wrap, and the Farmers’ Market.
And there is so much more to see. Enjoy getting the bird’s eye view!
